Mexico: Antidumping Investigation Upon Stainless Steel Flat Products
On April 5, 2019, was published in the Federal Official Gazette the "Notice of Initiation of an antidumping investigation upon definitive and temporary imports of stainless steel flat products classified under the Mexican Tariff Schedule numbers 7219.34.01, 7219.35.01 and 7220.20.02, as well as those included under 9802.00.01, 9802.00.02, 9802.00.03, 9802.00.07, 9802.00.10, 9802.00.13 and 9802.00.19 originating from the People's Republic of China and Taipei".
The purpose of this proceeding is to determine whether these imports involved dumping of products and damage to domestic industry, and, in its case impose antidumping duties on the importation of the products subject to investigation.
The period under investigation corresponds to October 1, 2017 through September 30, 2018 and the damage analysis period corresponds to October 1, 2015 through September 30, 2018.
Interested parties must file arguments and evidence against this procedure to challenge the potential imposition of antidumping duties. Failure to participate at this stage will prevent these parties to participate in further stages, and thus, in case a dumping duty is imposed, the general duty will be applicable.
The deadline to file the response to the official questionnaire, evidence and arguments elapses on May 20, 2019.
Our Foreign Trade and Customs team is prepared to advise exporters and importers to prepare and file the official questionnaire, evidence and arguments against the antidumping investigations.
