The US Department of Commerce has made a final determination in its second annual review and removed the antidumping duty on cold rolled steel product imports from South Korea, according to South Korean sources.
Cold rolled steel products manufactured by Hyundai Steel Co. and POSCO between September 2017 and August 2018 will be exempt from antidumping duties.
Last month, the US Department of Commerce also exempted cold rolled steel products manufactured by Hyundai Steel from countervailing duty (CVD), while imposing 0.59 percent (de minimis) countervailing duty on cold rolled steel produced by POSCO.
Removal of the duty is likely to increase cold rolled steel shipments from South Korea, but they will still remain limited due to the Section 232 measures.
